Jazmin “Daddy” Koenig - Recovery Fund

Jazmin “Daddy” Koenig is a very bright, loving, caring person who lights up the room when ze walks in! Daddy is a wonderful parent who will do anything for hir 16 year old son, Dion. On top of being a phenomenal parent, ze is also a vocal advocate for social/economic justice as well as sitting as a head election judge at every election. You will generally find hir either serving at Northeast Social, filling the room with hir beautiful voice at a local karaoke spot, or being a total badass as “Rhythm & Bruise” with MN Roller Derby. Even with all these wonderful qualities Daddy is also, down to earth and happy to lend an ear or drop anything they are doing for someone in need. Honestly, one of the best friends anyone could ask for. I can safely say ze is so loved by many friends and family.

On May 24th, Daddy was rushed to North Memorial hospital with unbearable stomach pains which ze has suffered with on and off for many years and never received a real diagnosis, until now. Daddy had emergency surgery early Wednesday morning for cut off blood supply to hir bowels, due to an internal hernia. Hir intestines were near necrotic but ze should be able to make a full recovery. Unfortunately, however, this has left hir in a lot of pain and Daddy has a long recovery ahead of hir. Potentially could be out of work for months and (since ze serves at a small, local, restaraunt) does not have medical or leave benefits through hir employer. Ze will be left with a lot of medical and living expenses and need’s community to come together, for help, just like ze has come to the aid of the community.

Daddy will be discharged today (May 27th) to continue hir recovery at home, with the help of loved ones. Ze is a really strong person and will get through this but needs all the love and support ze can get.

Currently the goal is for hir personal expenses to be covered including rent, utilities, living expenses including food for hirself and hir animals. Ze is also about to move into hir new home and could use any extra help that can be offered.
