In February 2022, I will be volunteering in Lesotho with Action Ireland Trust and Portmarnock Community School to engage in a program of work in the impoverished area of Southern Africa - Lesotho.
During my time in Africa I will bring over chess equipment for the schools I volunteer in and teach the children the basics of the game and strategic thinking. I want to leave them with the understanding that games can cut across language, age, race, religion, politics, gender and socioeconomic background. I firmly believe it will help in their development.

In conjunction with this funding page, on the Sunday the 15th of August 2021 at 15:00 GMT, I will be hosting an online chess tournament open to players of all levels to raise funds and awareness for this vital trip. The tournament is free for all to enter but if you could donate anything at all to the trip here it would be very much appreciated. Funds raised will be used to help me bring as many boards and sets over as possible to leave out there at the schools . 100% of the money raised will go to this trip.
