Friends, as you join in... SEE BELOW FOR THREE WAYS YOU CAN GIVE to benefit people who are struggling in Jamaica.
Hurricane Melissa dealt unprecedented, punishing blows across Jamaica in October 2025. Continuous hard rains then poured for three weeks afterward.
The historic storm, flooding and landslides left tens of thousands of people displaced. Homes are severely damaged or destroyed, and forests and farmland are devastated beyond recognition. While the hurricane made its most severe landfall in areas such as Treasure Beach and Montego Bay, people in parishes across the island still don't have electricity, water, or usable roadways. And the costs of goods have skyrocketed.
Jamaican people are proud and resilient. But in an economy where reliance on gifts from relatives abroad makes up 20% of the GDP, Jamaicans on the island now have a deeper need than ever. They need food. They need clothing. And they need support to rebuild their humble homes and livelihoods.
OUR PLAN
We're raising cash to enable people to get things they need to survive (diapers, mattresses, cooking gas, groceries) and to rebuild (water storage tanks, basic roofing materials such as zinc and plywood, and seeds for farming).
We will distribute cash and clothing to people we know to be struggling (many without donors abroad) in the parishes of Manchester, Saint Andrew, Saint Ann, Saint Mary and Portland.
Your contributions will help fill a gap left by relief efforts.
