Support Sarah's Recovery

To know Sarah is to love her. As an educator for the past seven years, Sarah has touched the hearts of countless students. She is that English teacher that you will never forget–warm, kind, and with the ability to connect with every student in her classroom. She is an intensely loyal friend, sister, and mama to her fur baby, Rafa. Sarah can find beauty and meaning in every moment, and spending time with her genuinely warms the soul. Sarah is selfless and kind, with a vast and open heart.

Sarah has been privately battling a traumatic and life-changing diagnosis for the past seven months. In August of 2021, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer and her world has been shaken by the heavy weight of her diagnosis at such a young age. Her treatment began with countless scans and huge decisions that she mainly made on her own. She has undergone chemotherapy and several major surgeries, including an additional one this week–hopefully the last before she embarks on six weeks of radiation, followed by reconstruction and a lifetime of recovery. Supporting herself on a teacher’s salary while teaching remotely between chemo and surgeries has been a huge challenge and has come with a hefty financial burden.

Sarah will be embarking on one of the most physically and emotionally demanding experiences of her life, and she and Rafa (If you haven’t met Rafa yet, YOU NEED TO) need our support.

Being the selfless person that Sarah is, she’d never request this type of support herself. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is ask for help when you need it, so her closest friends are stepping up to do that for her. Any help would be appreciated, and I know that it would mean the world to Sarah.
