My name is Danyon Miller. I would like to give you a few reasons why I’m asking for your help.
First: A little about myself.
I'm a 20 year old college student who moved from Arizona to Texas, then back to Arizona to pursue a ministry degree at Hillsong College. I moved to the Phoenix metroplex in August of 2019, which was the very first semester of Hillsong College's North American (USA) campus. Here is where I met some phenomenal people. These people are the kind of friends you never want to leave. They have shaped me and have helped transform me into who I am today.
Let me tell you about my current involvement with Hillsong.
I am now one of the key production leaders at the USA campus and I am helping to lead the charge in the tech booth, more specifically, the theatrical lighting area. Not only that, but I am a head student in building culture, atmosphere, leadership, and responsibility within the college itself. I thoroughly enjoy church life and the people that attend.
I am enrolled as a worship student in the vocalist stream. I. LOVE. IT.
I have been involved with music most of my life. I grew up in a musical family, with my parents and sister being talented musicians, and have since been involved with music. With experience in band, music theory, and instrumentalism, I find music fun and inspiring.
That, however, is surface level. Honestly, you probably see a bunch of “gofundme” posts saying, "I'm a man with a dream”, and, “ if I get that one goal, I will be happy."
Yes, I have a dream, but what I'm here for is something greater than what any production or musical achievement could give me. What I'm here for and what I could use your help with is the ability to stay right where I need to be…. for myself and my community.
I attend church on a weekly basis, and help others as often as possible. In the past, when COVID-19 wasn't around, I would make food for my friends and people who needed a friend. I’d stay with them, make them laugh, watch a movie, give them a friend and a hope. Daily, when I'm at the college, I do my best to give others a higher perspective, a renewed mind, and a refreshed heart. I believe that Jesus has helped me be a castle and a temple for many people. Unfortunately, lack of finances could make this impossible.
I have a job at a donut shop called Drizzle Donut Co. This gives me modest steady income, but with a deadline closing in on me and recently testing positive for COVID-19, I cannot rely on the job at the Donut Shop to pay all upcoming expenses. However, with your assistance, in addition to working two jobs, I can pay off some outstanding fees and continue my enrollment for next semester.
Your help, of any amount, will allow me to remain in school and in the community where I have been called and equipped, as well as allowing me to stay in the beautiful state of Arizona……. My original home.
