Whether we know each other or not, thank you for taking the time to read this, I'm eager to share what I’ll be up to this next year…

I am so excited to say I am a 2025-2026 ICP cohort member at PETE! PETE is Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble and ICP is their Institute for Contemporary Performance! I started at the beginning of September and will be training Monday through Friday at a minimum of 20 hours per week for the next 9 months! It is a total privilege and huge opportunity and one I’ve been eyeing and dreaming about doing for about 6 years. Time and fates aligned and it is happening Now!

I have been so generously awarded a Work-study position by PETE that cuts my tuition in half! Woohoo! This leaves $4,500 left to raise!

It feels fated or related that I have also been exploring EMDR therapy and trying to retrain or grow new wormy squirmy wires in my brain. I bring this up because with the current atrocities of the world and the crowdfunding I see on a daily basis for survival needs, I have really wrestled with the idea of making an ask for tuition help. I’m wrestling specifically with the mythologically strong duo of Shame and Guilt, you may know these fearsome fighters. However, making this ask feels like a stepping stone on the journey I’m on, relearning beliefs about myself and making new ones. Believing that I’m worthy of my dreams, of pursuing those dreams, worthy of help, worthy of asking for help.

And that the world I’m trying to live in is one where help is asked for and given freely and abundantly. Where Shame and Guilt have retired their ancient singlets. Where offering help and sharing resources are second nature.

In case you really don’t know me, I’m a multidisciplinary creative focusing on training and making work in a variety of styles within the performance disciplines of theatre acting, voice, and comedy. I also write, improvise, devise, teach, and create youth programming.

I make this ask with a promise attached to it – to spread the learning and training and share in the continuation of passing these skills and methods of making. To work with youth, students, people who dream and organize for safer more expansive communities, workplaces, family structures. I hope to be a steward of this work, of ensemble, devised theatre; to resist automation and use human connection and curiosity to shape the work.
