Becoming a member of the PSIA National Alpine Demo Team as been a goal of mine since I first started teaching skiing 13 yrs ago.
I have worked dilegently on my skiing, clinicing, and presenting to prepare myself for this opportunity and now I have been invited, as 1 of 40 skiers, to attend the on-snow selection in Breckenridge, CO.
The tryout is 4 days and scheduled to start on April 18th, but my plan is to fly out on April 12th so that I have time to acclimate to the elevation, explore the mountain, and relax and enjoy the expereince.
The funds that I raise will go to cover travel expenses (flight, baggage fees, transport from Denver to Breckenridge), housing for the days leading up to the tryout (PSIA-E has generously secured housing for those of us from the East starting on the 15th), lift access prior to the tryout and meals and extra expenses.
I am only 1 of 4 skiers from the Eastern Division invited to the biggest show in our industry so, I feel, that not only am I out there representing myself, but my home ski school of Stowe and the whole of the Eastern Division.
