Hi, my name is Tonya and I'm fundraising for my friend Lucy and her son.

Lucy is a full-time working single mom to a son with special needs. In the last few months, her son's condition has worsened. He is in crisis and Lucy had to quit her job as a homeless youth caseworker to care for her son's health needs. She has major physical health concerns which require appointments with out-of-area specialists and has run out of PTO from work. She is working full-time, unpaid, to ensure that her son's educational, mental and physical health needs are met. She is in the process of applying to be his full-time caretaker, but between now and then she has no way to earn money.

Lucy has spent years advocating for the most vulnerable members of our community. As a caseworker for homeless youth, she should not be facing homelessness herself, but she and her son have been forced into the gaps that exist within our broken system.

If anyone can help Lucy and her son, it would be greatly appreciated. Funds will go directly towards living expenses and medical expenses for herself and her son. Let's show up for Lucy in the same ways that she has shown up and advocated for those in our community who are the most vulnerable. I've known Lucy for nearly 25 years and can personally attest to her compassion, resilience and strength. It's never easy to ask for help, but this situation requires community support.
