Hi Everyone,
Year 6! I could not be more excited to return to the CrossFit games to compete for the title of "Fittest on Earth" in the Lower Extremity Adaptive division this year in San Jose, California!
Each year brings its own challenges, and this year is no different. Balancing two jobs, completing my second masters degree, and training to compete at the highest level has not been easy- but nothing worth pursuing ever is.
Adaptive CrossFit has become increasingly expensive. Adaptive athletes typically don't receive sponsorships, and are often responsible for self-funding all competition expenses. This year's Games registration fee alone was $522. When combined with travel, lodging, and lost wages during the trip, the total cost will be around $3000.
No one makes it to the CrossFit Games alone. I've been so grateful for the support of so many over the years to compete in something so meaningful for myself and the future of adaptive athletics.
If you'd prefer to contribute via Venmo (@Valerie-Cohen-1) or Zelle ([email redacted]), those options are available as well.
Thank you so much for any contribution-- it means more than you know!
