Help Dakota Ames Lay His Wife Laura to Rest
Hi, my name is Justin Mosby, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Dakota Ames (Matthew Haen), who recently lost his beloved wife, Laura Haen.
Dakota and Laura shared 45 beautiful years together. They were soulmates in every sense — always side by side, through every joy and hardship. Losing her has left a hole in his heart that words can’t fully describe.
Although Laura has already been cremated, her final wish was to be laid to rest in a cemetery near Dakota’s family, so that one day they could be reunited side by side. For now, her urn is being kept at his sister’s house because Dakota, still deep in grief, cannot bring himself to place it at home.
Unfortunately, Dakota lives on social security disability. Without Laura’s income, making ends meet has become even harder, and he simply cannot afford the costs of burial on his own.
We are hoping to raise $1,000 to help cover:
• $550 for a cemetery plot near Dakota’s parents and grandparents
• $450 for the opening and closing of the grave with a witness
In addition, Dakota dreams of purchasing a cement vault to protect Laura’s urn, ensuring that when the grave is opened again for his own burial, her urn will remain intact and undisturbed.
This isn’t just about money — it’s about honoring a woman who lived with love, faith, and family at her core. Laura came from a family rooted in Shawano, Wisconsin, where her kindness and loyalty touched so many lives. Those who knew her remember her strength, her warmth, and her unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Our family is deeply grateful to those who have already stepped forward:
• Nancy’s son Wesley, who donated $50
• A kindhearted woman from the Shawano dog training group, who gave from her heart
Your support means more than we can ever say. Every prayer, every share, every contribution makes a difference. Some friends have told us they may be able to help in September, so we will be keeping this fundraiser open a little longer to give everyone the opportunity.
On behalf of Dakota, Laura’s family, and all of us who loved her — thank you. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for helping to give Laura the peaceful resting place she deserves.
With love and gratitude,
Justin Mosby & Family
