Mama J Needs Our Help!

Donation protected

This page is for anyone willing to help support our dear mother Denise Johnson, also known as Mama J, in all of her hardships that many of us do not realize she has been facing.
Aside from being a mother to her three sons, she is a mother-in-law and more recently a grandmother; but Denise has also been known as Mama J to countless friends, relatives and anyone who has ever met her.
Like many of us, Denise has fallen on hard times due to her good heart and well intent for others. She has always been first in line to help anyone that she can. Even if it meant giving the last $5 she had, she would hand it to a stranger to see him or her smile rather than buy herself dinner for the night. This is the kind of person everyone knows her as. Always giving, always happy to give and never with a sad look on her face. Her door has been opened to so many people- giving a bed to sleep in, a meal to warm them or even just an ear to listen. Denise and her husband Rick have helped more people than could be counted, always without a second thought. Now she needs our help in return.
Almost a decade and a half ago, Denise and Rick spoke to an investor that promised to refinance their home so that they could consolidate some bills and raise their three young boys. Instead of refinancing their home, the investor convinced them to take out a second mortgage and then failed to file the paperwork properly on their behalf. Being inexperienced in these matters, they were unaware of the financial mistakes they were making until it was too late. The taxes they owed due to their investor's incompetence were astronomical.
For years Denise and Rick have been paying off back taxes and other bills, barely making a dent. Everyday expenses were made worse when Rick lost his job. Denise turned to her retirement plan and has been dipping into these funds to get by. Despite their on going financial hardships, Denise and Rick continued to provide not only for their family but for anyone who needed it.
2014 proved to be the toughest year yet for Denise, both financially and emotionally. Her oldest sons were both diagnosed with cancer and her need to be with her sons, one of which is stationed across the country, continued to put a strain on her financial obligations. Tragedy struck again in December of 2014 when Denise's husband of 39 years passed away unexpectedly. Having been stretched so thin, a proper ceremony to celebrate such a wonderful man has not been able to be arranged.
Through this series of unfortunate events, Denise has continued to work as a full time nurse. At a time when most people would start thinking of retirement, Denise is calculating the extra years she will have to continue working to pay off her house and medical bills. Although her drive has never faltered, her body is wearing down. Despite her family's wishes, she has put her needs second and can not afford another much needed shoulder surgery.
Our goal is to help Denise with her home-help her to keep it; or at least help pay some of her medical expenses so that she can get her much needed shoulder surgery with out feeling guilty or sick from worrying about how she will be able to afford it.
As her children, we help out as much as we can but we want to do more. We want to be able to give the woman who has given so much to each of us more than she could ever imagine, but we need your help. With our pride put to the side and in the most humble way we are now reaching out to family and friends to listen to our story and help us help her, if you can.
If you can, any help would be much appreciated-even by just sharing this to help spread the word, the Johnson family will  be forever grateful. It takes a big, kind heart to be able to make the impact that Denise and Rick have made on so many. Help us show Denise the impact the selfless love she and her husband have put out into the world has made on all of us. Thank you for your time and support.
Good vibes and God's blessings,
The Johnsons
