Kim was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August of 2017.
No one expects to get cancer, no one plans for it and no one expects to lose their insurance for an entire month while undergoing chemotherapy treatments...but that's what happened.
Kim was told by her insurance company she was covered through 12/31/2017, and she has coverage lined up effective on 01/01/2018...however on 12/02/2017 she received a letter stating her current coverage was terminated as of 12/01/2017 and she did not meet the criteria for an extention... she appealed, and lost.
Because it is well into December, it is too late to qualify for any type medical assistance, leaving her uninsurned for the entire month of December, costing roughly 17,000 out of pocket.
Kim is a strong, loving, independent woman and asking for help is way out of her comfort zone. We all need help and support from time to time, and she is the type of woman who thinks nothing of giving of herself to everyone who needs her and expecting nothing in return. Please help if you can and know how appreciated it is and thank you will never be enough.
