Kourosh Baratinya
Hi I'm emma a close friend to a beautiful family who lost their Ray of sunshine,
He meant the world to so many of us
That beautiful smile that lit every room he went into,
I don't think there was a time where he didn't make me belly laugh.

I've set up a gofund me page up so if anyway would love to donate know it would mean the world to them.

Here is something that the family have wrote

For those who don’t know Kourosh is the Iranian name for Cyrus the Great who was a Persian king and that is a perfect reflection of who Kourosh really was, a king.

Born 11.56AM on the 8th June 2012 and weighing 2lb 1oz and you blessed all of our lives Kourosh.

Sadly, our king had passed away on 22nd January 2024 at 1.15PM on PICU at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. He was brave, as always, until the very end but was not alone. The love for him will never end.

From day one you’ve been a warrior, ninety three days spent on the neonatal ward and five months old battled having heart surgery. Two broken bones in your life which you battled on with. Time on PICU, where you had tummy surgery to have your peg fitted and then emergency surgery to fix it again and you battled on through that. Then you fell poorly in 2016 and we was all so lucky enough that you was able to go on to ECMO and it was another chance and you battled on through that. You’ve overcome so many more obstacles that we remember, pneumonia, having to be resuscitated whilst being transported hospital, surgery to have a tooth taken out as it was knocked up in to your gums from having to be sedated in a rush. All these obstacles and battles and you took it like an absolute trooper and proved time and time again how much of a fighter and miracle you are.

And now here we are, your life wrongly taken away from you. A sweet, innocent, loving, brave and joyful baby boy who lit up any room he entered and had a smile that was infectious to anyone he met. You jumped every hurdle thrown your way and for that everyone is so so proud of you.

Day and night there’s not a minute you’re out of our thoughts, we will do you justice and make you proud. We will do all the things you wanted to do and you will always be with us. You will have the best send of because that’s the least you deserve.

Everyone will be blowing bubbles which was your favourite thing to do, we will be listening to your favourite songs, watching your favourite films and going to your favourite places and you will be with all of us every step of the way.

We will have more adventures soon and when we go back to Perranporth and we walk along the beach we will be looking for your front prints in the sand beside ours. We will be looking in the sky and waiting for your bubbles to be blown our way. We will be waiting for the signs you send us to let us know you are with us, until we meet again, you’ll always be beside us.

For now our little fighter, it’s time to sleep but sleep well knowing your light is shining bright forever and always.

- Ward 25, Children’s Ward at Kingsmill Hospital; Kourosh had open access here when he was younger and the staff have always been amazing and worked so hard to ensure Kourosh had the best health care provided to him.

- Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Queens Medical Centre Hospital in Nottingham; again for what they’ve done to help.

- 4Louis; A charity which helps bereaved families and have been supporting myself and our family and they’ve been amazing.

These three places mean a lot to ourselves and Kourosh and if anyone is wanting to contribute then it will be split between these three charities/wards.
