Most of you know our best friends Bob & Karen Koufeldt. If so, you already know they both have hearts as big as all outdoors! If you don't know them personally perhaps Bob has helped you out at one time or another, since Bob is the local
"MacGyver"! We haven't met the motor, the car or the lawn mower that he can't fix! We don't think Bob has ever met a stranger!
Last Fall Bob was diagnosed with CMML, a rare form of leukemia. He has been undergoing chemotherapy since then, all of which they have learned is NOT COVERED by insurance. This alone has grown to well over $100,000! There are going to be so many more expenses.
They are currently in Indy to prepare for the bone marrow transplant that he must have. He will be receiving stronger chemo until the transplant next Friday. They have to remain at the hospital for approximately one month. If (when) everything goes well they will then move into a hotel in Indy for the same amount of time so he can go back to the hospital for almost daily blood work. How much, if any, of this will be covered by insurance is anyone's guess?!
Being the quiet, caring people they are, they'd never personally ask for anything. They would strongly choose to be the ones giving their help to others rather than needing that help now. But sometimes life steps in and changes things.
If you know either of them, ever worked with either, maybe attended school or church with one of them or have been helped at one time or another by Bob and/or Karen, please consider donating to their cause. If only 100 people who see this would donate just $50 we would reach our goal very quickly! Don't be constrained by this suggested amount. EVERY donation will help! Please consider donating, we would love to surpass our goal!
