KOTA: A Belgian Malinois Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Megan and I am fundraising for the Logsdon family. Monday night their Belgian Malinois, Kota, was in a serious accident involving a vehicle. Kota was rushed from his home in Shepherdsville to Louisville Jefferson Animal Hospital. The first 24 hours were really hard and Kota had a 50 percent chance of survival. He was in critical condition but stable. The biggest concern was his red blood cells being low. He could possibly have seizures from the brain trauma but Kota made it through the first 24 hours with no seizures.
On Tuesday Tyler and Megan got to see their baby and love on him again. Kota knew it was his mom and dad. He was walking and wagging his tail and using the restroom outside during their visit. Wednesday Kota was transported to Metropolitan Emergency Vet. They moved him to see multiple specialist for specific injuries. Currently his blood count is up and no internal bleeding that they can see from scans. Other issues is a fractured skull, only vision in one eye, and part of the ear had to be removed but he can hear. On top of this he has a swollen jaw and hasn't been able to eat. He may have to undergo jaw surgery if necessary.
The vet said Kota has a chance of recovering and having a good life. After everything he has gone through and is going through to hear a vet say that is amazing. Kota is a fighter and loved by many. We are asking for donations to lighten the financial load on this family. They have a long road ahead of them. Kota is one hundred percent worth it. Donations are greatly appreciated and every dollar counts. Prayers for a healthy recovering is greatly appreciated as well.
