Kosmos Happiness Fund - Donating across the world
Donation protected
Only 600 people have ever been to all 195 countries in the world. Not only am I going to all of them, I'm attempting to break the Guinness World Record for being the fastest human ever to do so!
My name is Michael, a filmmaker of thirteen years. Now I’m attempting to tell a story in a totally new way, one that I’m hoping can bring a smile onto people’s faces across the world. In every country, I'll be interviewing people about human happiness, asking them: "What is the happiest moment of their life?" While I travel, I will be releasing these stories across my social media.
Here are some links to press:
My journey across the world has given me an understanding that happiness is achievable no matter where you are or who you are in the world, but that a basic standard of living gives you more opportunities to experience happiness. For instance, happiness can be difficult to notice if you are constantly looking over your shoulder in the middle of a war zone, or if you haven't had a meal in several days.
Purely of my own volition, I decided to buy some food to donate to a small orphanage in Uganda while traveling in Africa. After posting the video of the gift, I received numerous messages from people who wanted me to deliver food to people in the countries I was visiting.
After so many requests and no way to fulfill them, I decided to create this page to allow people to donate money to the purchase of essentials for people I encounter in my traveling. These range from food, clothing, medicine, and hygienic goods.
Since you are here, I will assume you already trust me, but I want to reiterate that 100% of your money will go to people in need. Of course, it will be dependent on my discretion as to whom are the most needy. Remember, I am only in countries for a short period of time. My abilities are limited to the social and sometimes cultural framework of a given location. I am only one man traveling alone to every country in the world.
If you are willing to donate for non-essentials, like toys for children, please state this in your donation message as well.
I am humbled by your willingness to support this project. To see the fruits of your donations, please visit my instagram page @theprojectkosmos
Finally, I want to acknowledge that providing essentials in the immediate is not substitute for a stable environment, freedom, and opportunities. These are out of my control. I am a guest in every country I visit. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to do what I can to ameliorate suffering. I hope you feel the same way.
