On Tuesday, Karma (pictured on the right) was rushed to the vet, where we learned she had a severe intestinal blockage. By the time I found her, she was septic and required urgent, intensive medical care. After a long hospital stay, she is finally home and slowly recovering.
This morning, my other cat, Koshka (pictured on the left), began showing similar symptoms. We immediately brought her to the vet, where they confirmed that she too has a blockage and will need surgery.
We've since discovered the cause - both have been chewing on the bottom of our couch, which we've now removed - but the financial toll has been overwhelming. Karma's surgery cost over $12,000 (we expect to be reimbursed for about 75%), and Koshka was admitted tonight with a deposit of nearly $7,000.
I wouldn't be asking if we didn't truly need support. Anything you're able to give - whether it's a donation, kind words, or simply keeping them in your thoughts - means the world to us. Thank you so much.
