Help the Nichiren-Shu Booth at Boston Japan Fest
Donation protected

Hello! It’s Ryoen from the Nichiren Buddhist Sangha of Greater New England, Shingyo-Zan Kosen-Ji. Help us spread the Lotus Sutra and the Odaimoku in the Boston area!
We are raising money to support the temple in appearing at the Boston Japan Festival in April 2024. We offer memebers of the community a chance to experiance a little bit of what it is like to visit a temple during “matsuri” or festival times. We have Omikuji, various amulets feachuring Inari-Sama, Daikoku-Ten, Hachi Dai Ryu-O, Kanzeon Bosatsu, and others. We also feature Omamori, as well as a demonstration of prayers and chanting the Lotus Sutra.
This is the 1st time in 5 years that this event will be held. $1,800 would cover the cost of our booth space on the Boston Common. This is one of the biggest fund-raisers that we participate in, and it can go a long way toward helping with temple finances throughout the year. Staffing of the booth is donated by temple members, lay leaders, shami, and ministers. Many hours have been donated as well for the assembly of the booth’s contents and making amulets.
Temple members and staff donate their time to managing the booth each year it is held. We would appreciate anyone willing to chip in to make sure that our temple Shingyo-Zan Kosen-Ji and Nichiren Shu practices are represented in the community.
