Paul Kortenkamp will be remembered for his love of chocolate, candy, boats, barbeques, beer, and his family.
Losing him suddenly is a heartbreak from which his friends and family will never recover. He was a light in our lives, an easy laugh, a voice of optimism, and a heart filled with kindness and compassion. A graduate and lecturer at UC Davis, Paul spent his career building the west coast's candy, chocolate, sugar, and organic presence. He was our colleague and our friend who supported lifelong learning and education particularly through his involvement with the Fancy Food Show, IFT, Western Candy Association, Confectionery Foundation, and the Kettle Committee.
His tragic and unexpected death leaves behind grieving friends and his wonderful family. Please help us support his two daughters' own educational aspirations by donating to the Kortenkamp Family Education fund.
May his passing inspire us to live, love, and take to the seas at every opportunity.
