Korries Care

Two months ago our dear and coworker friend Korrie was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  She needs immediate surgery to remove this cancer from the left side tongue. This unexpected and untimely event happened in the midst of a global pandemic making this even more stressful for Korrie. She's a young, independent 25-year-old woman with her career and life ahead of her. She has never smoked prior to this diagnosis, so we can all imagine the kind of shock that she went through when discovering she had a cancer diagnosis synonymous to an older aged pack-a-day smoker. She has learned to rely on herself as she's grown up, paying her way through her early adult life with little no aide from anyone else. Korrie has just started pursuing her career in the Veterinary industry and while this procedure will keep her out of work for two months, she plans to return back to work with whatever normalcy she can. In order to do so, she must have the proper funding and resources to recover. Her insurance is taking care of a SMALL portion of fees but these funds will be the majority of help she receives.  The donations we will collect through GoFundMe will help her with pay for a life-saving procedure out of pocket expenses, speech therapy to relearn what she will lose, and security that she will be able to focus only on getting healthy. We thought that creating this page and opportunity would help her through this time.
