On the 1st of August I’ll be start my journey across the UK, 800kms in just 10 days from Lands end, Cornwall to Lowestoft in Suffolk. This challenge is to show you the journey I have been on and confirm to myself who I am now. For those that don’t have a choice. It’s to show you can overcoming tough times, battles with addiction & mental health issues like myself. I want to show everyone there’s a way out.

Not only will this be about raising awareness for men’s mental health, we will be raising funds and supporting MANUP?

Too often, men are told to “man up” in ways that discourage them from talking about their struggles. This run is about flipping that phrase on its head. Man Up is a charity working to break the stigma around men’s mental health, encouraging open conversations with the right people and getting access to support.

This journey isn’t just about the miles. It’s about starting conversations, saving lives, and proving that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

When things get tough for me in any race or challenge I have put my self through, I always think I chose to be here and I chose to be in this discomfort. Some people don’t get to choose, they have to deal with it day in day out. - Whether it’s physical or mental pain, that’s what gets me through those moments. I think of my best friends who had a serious accident last year and is now in a wheelchair for life, he has to struggle through his new life he doesn’t have a choice. Or to the people that have thought the only way to deal with their mental struggle is to end it all.
