Korey Harlow Brain Surgery

In his last two weeks of employment my best friend Korey had a bleed in his brain near his brain stem. He has since been struggling with left-sided weakness, numbness, vision changes (his eyes rapidly dart back and forth uncontrollably) difficulties walking, eating.  He was quickly admitted to Mt Sinai Hospital in NYC.  He is currently undergoing brain surgery and will then go to the ICU. Assuming everything goes as well as expected, he will then go to inpatient rehab for two to four weeks. It is unclear at this point how much he will be able to recover.

Korey WILL be able to access his insurance through COBRA, at a cost $837/month for 18 months. He did have savings, but that is wiped out already from medical bills.

with this GoFundMe campaign we are hoping to help cover his rent and COBRA insurance payments for a couple of months, and if there is anything else left over, it will go towards the extensive medical bills that are piling up.

Thoughts and prayers please, this will likely change a lot of things for Korey and his family moving forward. We are staying positive but it's a long road ahead for Korey's recovery.

Once out of surgery, Korey will likely not be in a position to answer a lot of questions or keep up with a lot of the messages etc that I'm sure have already come flooding in since he went to the hospital. His mom Stephanie Worthington Harlow-Silverman has requested that any questions or concerns be filtered through me first and I will compile everyones messages and pass them on to Korey when he is ready and able to receive those!
