Help Fund Korean Movie Night

It all began with a community project.

Korean Movie Night was founded by three fellows from the Network of Korean American Leaders (NetKAL). The goal: to create an impactful idea focused on building bridges for the Korean American community and beyond.

As Korean cinema continues to captivate audiences around the world, Korean Movie Night serves as a celebration of Korea’s rich cultural heritage, providing the public with access to popular Korean films, food, and music.

Despite the rising popularity of Korean entertainment, there are no outdoor screening events focused exclusively on Korean movies. Starting in Los Angeles in Summer 2023 and expanding to other markets, we see an opportunity for an annual 'movies in the park' series that brings diverse communities and cultures together over impactful Korean films such as Parasite, Train to Busan, and Decision to Leave.

How We Will Use Funds Raised:

Funds raised will go towards costs for Korean Movie Night 2023 including venue, rentals, and labor.

As an advocate of diverse storytelling, Korean Movie Night seeks to build bridges for the next generation of BIPOC filmmakers and creatives. We will be donating a portion of our proceeds to Film2Future, a non-profit organization providing underserved LA-based teenagers access to professional-level filmmaking programs and employment opportunities.
