Kora's Major Trauma Vet Bills
Hi everyone! I am starting this on behalf of a beautiful and loving husky named Kora and her dedicated owner Jonathan. On Feb, 7th, Jonathan came home to find the front door open with the knob off and one of his beloved huskies missing. Kora and her brother Koda have been together for over 10 years with him and have never been separated so it was highly unusual for her to be missing. He searched high and low and after a full day went into full scale lost pup search mode.
After lots of Facebook sharing, Lost posters scattered everywhere in the area, posts on Lost Pets pages, and many other avenues, she still was not found..... until today Feb. 10th.
Jonathan found her in a thicket briar bush just off the train tracks near their home, majorly tangled and in very severe condition. Her injuries seem to indicate she was hit and thrown by a train into her position. Upon arriving at the UT Vet Clinic, she was assessed as having a head injury that caused an eye to be pushed from its socket, her beautiful full tail has been detached (possibly chewed off by herself in an attempt to be free of the thicket), and a chance that her right hind leg is beyond saving from the entangled thorny mess she was struggling in.
The trauma is severe yet she is still fighting for life!! An update from the veternarian was just given that she does not seem to be in immediate danger of internal injuries to keep her from surgery so they will be operating tomorrow morning for both her eye and her tail which will require several vertebrae to be removed.
This pup is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs you will ever met and obviously a very tough one at that! However, her medical vet bills are already insanely high for her treatment upon arriving at the clinic in Jonathan's arms. Just to get started, an upfront payment of $2,500 was required by the clinic to even begin treatment with an estimated final total of up to $5,000!! She is going to have to have multiple surgeries over the course of this event and it is going to be unbelievably expensive in which vet clinics are not very flexible on payment situations. It is an urgent need to raise funds to continue throughout the next few days!
So I ask you, please from the bottom of your hearts, help a grieving and extremely stressed dog owner with the overwhelming cost of her medical bills to get her through this horrific and traumatic event! Jonathan is a very good guy and he loves Kora and Koda with every bit of his being and will do anything to make sure they are ok... Let's help him out! Any donations, no matter how small, are greatly and eternally appreciated!
