Koo's Half Marathon- CF
This time last year I was relatively unfit & could barely run for a couple of minutes without my legs dying on me. I realised in Jan that I wanted to do something really worthwhile for myself and charity. So, I've put the blood sweat and tears into training and signed up for Solihull's Half Marathon on August 10th.
I have decided to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis trust which runs very close to home. CF effects around 11,000 people in the UK & 1 in 25 people carry the gene, usually without knowing. It's one of the most common genetic diseases. CF causes persistent lung problems and makes it increasingly difficult for those affected to breathe and maintain a good lung function. Many people living with it face daily challenges, including time-consuming treatments and hospital visits, just to manage their symptoms.
While there is currently no cure, ongoing research and medical advancements are making a huge difference in extending lives and improving health outcomes. So, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Wish me luck! (I need it)
