Economic aid for primary schools in Tanzania.

På min rejse i Tanzania mødte jeg to ildsjæle, Ambrose og Doris, som sammen kæmper for at skabe lighed under uddannelse i Tanzania.
De er begge født og opvokset i området omkring bjerget Kilimanjaro, og har hver især formået at opbygge en virksomhed, hhv. et turistbureau og et hotel. Herfra har de valgt at al overskud går til at renovere og forbedre ude-/indefaciliteterne på tre folkeskoler - Materuni, Mruwia and Kishumundu - og når de er færdige, videre til naboskolerne.
Det forholder sig nemlig således, at ikke-private folkeskoler som er lokaliseret i bjergene, såkaldt "high-land", negligeres af staten - og de mangler alt fra kridt og borde/bænke til sikre køkken og toiletfaciliteter, som i regntiden har kostet liv på ulykkelig vis.
De 1000 USD / 7500 DKK vil række langt:
- Færdiggøre fem klasselokaler på Mruwia Primary school
- Afsikre og renovere toiletfaciliteter pp Mruwia Primary School
- Renovere køkkenfaciliteter på Materuni, Mruwia and Kishumundu Primary school
- Løn til alle medarbejdere på projektet.
Jeg har besøgt alle skolerne, og tiltagende er mildest talt nødvendige.
Deres virksomheder er helt og aldeles afhængig af den førhen blomstrende turisme - og denne har COVID-19 desværre aflivet. Turismen forsvandt som lyn fra en klar himmel og "hjælpepakker" er et fremmedord på disse kanter.
Det har aldrig været mere presserende at hjælpe som dette øjeblik.
At skabe de bedst mulige rammer for > 1000 folkeskoleelever vil give dem motivationen til at give den gas i skolen og derved styrke deres ambitioner og håb om en bedre fremtid.

On my second journey to Tanzania, I met two fiery souls, Ambrose and Doris, who fight to create educational equality in Tanzania.
They are both born and raised in the area of Kilimanjaro and have each managed to build up their own businesses. Ambrose manages a tourist bureau and Doris manages a hotel. Together they have chosen to use excess income to rebuild and improve three primary schools - Materuni, Mruwia and Kishumundu - and when they are done, several other schools are in line.
It is the case that governmental schools located in the mountains, so-called “high-land”, are highly neglected by the government - and the schools lack everything from chalk and tables/benches to safe kitchen and toilet facilities, which are potentially fatal in the rainy season.
The 1000 USD / 7500 DKK will have a huge impact:
- Completion of five classrooms at Mruwia Primary School´
- Secure and rebuild toilet facilities at Mruwia Primary School
- Rebuild kitchen facilities at Materuni, Mruwia and Kishumundu Primary Schools
- Pay salaries for all employees involved in the project.
I have visited the schools, and frankly, the aid is necessary.
As you might figure, both businesses are completely dependent on the previously flourishing tourism - but then COVID-19 arrived. Tourism disappeared like a lightning from a clear sky and there is nowhere to find economic aid.
It has never been more urgent to help as this moment.
To provide the best possible framework for > 1000 young students will give them motivation to do well at school and thereby strengthen their ambitions and hopes for a better future.
I hope you will support the education of Materuni, Mruwia and Kishumundu and fight poverty among Tanzania’s most vulnerable children. Thank you.
