Aleena Kondek's JHU Internship

Donation protected
Help send Officer Kondek's daughter, Aleena Kondek, to John Hopkins University to help fulfill her goals in pursuing the medical field.

Adams Arms is a Florida based company that works closely with our local Law Enforcement as well as individual officers. Through one of these local relationships we met Aleena Kondek. After hearing her story and being aware of the history with fallen Officer Kondek, we decided to get involved to help make this young lady's wish come true. We have established this GoFundMe account where all proceeds go directly to Aleena for the JHU Internship as well as future education. We are asking everyone who is capable to assist. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Remember, even the smallest contributions count. By sharing this, you are also assisting.

Aleena Kondek, daughter of fallen Officer Charles Kondek, Jr. and Teresa Kondek, is the youngest of five children.  She is a bright, enthusiastic sixteen year old who currently attends River Ridge High School. Because of her academic achievement throughout her school years she has excelled academically and personally.  Aleena’s academic history includes a President’s Academic Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, honor roll during her middle school years as well as high school, Citizen of the month, Citizen of the week, and numerous recognitions for her leadership and compassion.

During her first two years of high school, Aleena completed honors classes year-round so that she can graduate a year early. Her determination and strength became evident on December 21, 2014 when her father, Tarpon Springs Police Officer Charles Kondek, Jr. was killed in the line of duty.  During the grieving process, Aleena found the strength to push her way through the school year while maintaining her grades, keeping her GPA above 3.8. She tells her teachers and peers that her determination is for her father and that she fully intends to make him proud as she reaches her academic goals they talked about so much.

Aleena is also an athlete. She played recreational soccer at the age of 4 until she advanced at age six to competitive travel soccer where she received MVP year after year. Her father was her coach and guided her through her development. Unfortunately after losing her father, she finished her season and did not return to the field.

At the age of fifteen, Aleena took SAT prep classes to help prepare her for college entry. She scored high enough for USF on her first try. Aleena wants to pursue a career in the medical field, possibly in Obstetrics or a Neonatal Surgery. In January, 2016, she was nominated to attend a National Youth Leadership Forum for Advanced Medicine and Health Care at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland where she will attend a ten day program earning her first college credits. The tuition cost of the program is broken down as:

Tuition: $3,495.00 (includes dorm housing at JHU, campus meals, supervision, materials, and private bus to and from local hospitals)
Travel Ins: $139
Flight: $350
