Konah Weisel Memorial

After careful thought, the family has decided on a fitting charity in memory of Konah -- a place that everyone can visit, enjoy, and share memories. Fort Greene Park is a special place for our family and friends. Konah loved to run in the park, but we also gathered there often for birthday picnics, whenever family or friends came in town, or just because the weather was beautiful. In the last year and a half, as restaurants closed due to Covid, Twumasi and Konah often had dinner in the park.

 

We've done the research, and would love to dedicate a Fort Greene Park bench in Konah's name. There are many available, and we'll go to the park soon to pick the perfect one. The minimum cost to dedicate a bench is $3000, but there are other options as well. All of the proceeds of the bench dedication go to the Fort Greene Park Conservancy, and will ensure that our beloved city park continues to thrive, and continues to be a cherished meeting spot for friends and family.
