Hi friends,

I'm raising funds for my buddy Kolya, a trans masc person in Wilmington, DE who has been living with strength, heart, and resilience despite some incredibly hard circumstances.

After leaving an abusive and unsafe home, Kolya packed his whole life into his truck and left to find safer pastures. He’s built out his pickup into a cozy little home. He had the ingenuity to make the conversion himself, right down to solar panels and a rechargeable fan to help him survive scorching Delaware summers. He’s proud of the life he built and the work he’s done, and he should be!

But now his truck has broken down. It completely died last night. With no way to drive, no place to stay, and very limited support, Kolya is facing the real possibility of being out on the street. He needs his truck to live and to find work. It is essential.

Thankfully, he’s secured a week in a motel through some awesome local nonprofits. (Thanks, Jim!) But Kolya doesn’t have a lot of time. We’re trying to raise $2,500 to fix the truck and get Kolya safely back into the space he built for himself. If we’re able to go beyond that, any extra funds will go toward longer-term stability for him.

Kolya is thoughtful and funny! He’s studied Japanese cuisine, crushes at card games like Koi-Koi, and has faced every setback with rare grit. He’s also my only friend who consistently remembers to return my Tupperware!
