Hi, my name is Kris, I am Kolton’s auntie and his mom Leta’s best friend. Three years ago on Thanksgiving, Kolton was rushed to the emergency room where Leta persisted and the doctor finally ran an MRI and imaging on his head, mainly brain. They found a giant tumor on his brain very close to his frontal lobe. Thanksgiving day we were sitting up in Portland waiting for them to do surgery to remove the tumor. They successfully removed 95%, however, the other 5% was too close to his frontal lobe and was unable to be removed. Kolton did chemotherapy, radiation, had to wear a brain cap ( which shot electrodes into his brain several times every minute) etc…. Kolton was released from chemotherapy and radiation and we were so excited. He was able to maintain a job drive his car again and start to have a normal life. The Last couple weeks he started to get headaches again, where his vision was blurred things were not going well. Yesterday, Thursday, September 25, Kolton suffered several seizures and was rushed to the hospital. They were taken up to OHSU, where they did another brain scan, and realized the tumor is back and growing at an exponential rate. Tuesday they will be going back in to remove the tumor one more time. Kolton will then have to go back to chemotherapy and radiation and wearing the brain cap. Kolton and Leta live in Dallas, where they live paycheck to paycheck basically like the rest of us. They will now be off work for a long period of time, and we need to help them. Leta is his main caregiver, but also works a full-time job to make sure that they have a roof over their head. I am asking from the bottom of my heart to help Leta and Kolton stay afloat, with bills, food while they’re at the hospital, really anything. Right now they are waiting for a room since the hospital is completely full and they are having to sleep in the emergency room. We are hoping to have a room today that they can go in and rest. When Kolton was diagnosed the first time they gave him a five-year lifespan, this Thanksgiving will be three years.
