Aloha everyone,
As many of you know, Koloa Landing dive site suffered major damage from the storm surge and high surf generated by Hurricane Lowell. The impact has been devastating. From the photos, the once-familiar dive site entrance and parking area are almost unrecognizable, with large boulders, vegetation, and debris covering areas that are essential for access to the ocean.
Koloa Landing is more than just a place to enter the water. It is a treasured gathering place for Kauai’s diving community, a gateway to our incredible underwater environment, and an important site for education, conservation, and recreation.
We can make a difference by coming together to help restore it.
This fundraiser will support Malama Na 'Apapa (MNA), a Hawaii-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental organization whose name means “Take Care of the Coral Reefs.” MNA was founded with a mission to preserve, sustain, and restore Hawaii’s valuable coral reef ecosystems.
Through its work, MNA supports marine science education and outreach, reef restoration, beach cleanups, in-water scuba reef cleanups, scuba certifications, waste-to-energy initiatives, and coral reef surveys that help monitor the health and changes of the reefs we work to protect.
Our Goal: Restore Koloa Landing
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward the cleanup and restoration efforts at the Koloa Landing ramp following the devastation caused by Hurricane Lowell.
The project will require equipment, materials, and manpower to safely:
- Remove large boulders and storm debris.
- Clear vegetation and other material deposited by the storm.
- Clean and restore the landing and access area.
Help return Koloa Landing to a safe and usable condition for the community.
This will be a significant undertaking, but together we can help bring this special place back.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Your contribution will help provide the resources needed to begin the hard work of clearing, rebuilding, and restoring Koloa Landing.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, fellow divers, visitors to Kauai, and anyone who cares about Hawaii’s beaches, reefs, and ocean community.
Mahalo nui loa for your support, generosity, and commitment to helping care for our island and the places we love.
Let’s come together and help restore Koloa Landing!
Mahalo for helping Mālama ʻĀpapa and our Kauai community.
