Join Kole in the Fight Against ALS
Donation protected
As some of you already know, Kole Kobel, was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. This diagnosis was a complete and utter shock to his friends and family. We are now turning to GoFundMe to help support him through this battle. This GoFundMe is managed by his sister, Kathy Stephenson, and niece Kasey Thomas.
ALS is a terminal disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing a loss of muscle function, which eventually leaves the body completely paralyzed. Over time, as the body's muscles break down, he will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe. While most ALS patients see a slower decline over several years, Kole's symptoms have rapidly progressed at a breathtaking rate. The disease has now taken complete control of his life.
This disease is as insidious as they come. For all the millions of dollars raised over the last several years with the Ice Bucket Challenge, little progress has been made in finding effective treatments, let alone a cure. So, while scientists struggle to beat this disease to the ground, help us support Kole and Sheri by relieving some of their financial burdens and anxiety as Kole is no longer able to work. The family is paying out of pocket for Kole’s in-home care and all funds raised will go towards Kole’s medical expenses, medications, etc.
Because of Kole’s fragile current state of ALS, the family asks for no visitors at this time. Please check here for updates rather than contact Kole or Sheri directly as all efforts are being made to keep Kole comfortable and that keeps Sheri and family quite busy.
Thank you so much for opening your heart and donating to this effort. Your support means the world to Kole, Sheri, Kole and Lane and the extended family.
