Dear Family and Friends of the Heberts,
We have set up this go fund me to alleviate the financial stress from Kole’s family so they are able to be by his side and not have to worry about future medical bills and expenses.
On January 6th, he was a victim of a shooting. His injuries are life threatening. Kole’s cervical spinal cord was severed resulting in paralysis from the neck down which means he cannot breathe on his own without the use of a ventilator. He also sustained a skull fracture and serious injury to his esophagus. Kole was transported to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge where he will have surgery to repair the gunshot wound to his neck, placement of a voice box, hardware to support his cervical spine, repair of the skull fracture as well as a tracheotomy for him to continue to have full assistance with his breathing. The bullet fragments are unable to be retrieved. These injuries are what his medical team are sure of at this time. The next few days and weeks will be critical as his medical team do more tests and studies to know if he has other injuries that have not surfaced yet. His family has been dealt terrifying news and outcomes that no mother and father want to hear. Kole will be in the hospital at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge for at least the next 2 weeks which is the beginning of care he will need, followed by several months in a rehab facility.
Kole is the son of Tracy and Kelly Hebert.
Kole just turned 18 years old and was set to graduate in May 2024. As many of you know he loves the outdoors like hunting fishing and of course baseball. Kole committed to LSUE for the Fall of 2024 with a full baseball scholarship. He is the youngest of 4 brothers (Kody Hebert, Chase Guidroz, Chaz Hebert, and Kade Hebert) and 1 sister (Katie Hebert Douet). His family and friends are devastated with the terrible news and prognosis they received about their loved one.
Any donations are very appreciated. Even if you aren’t able to donate, prayers are needed and very much appreciated.
