Our beloved Kolby’s life was marked by courage, resilience, and a spirit that never gave up—no matter the challenges she faced. After losing her sight, Kolby was fortunate enough to receive not one, but two guide dogs from The Seeing Eye, the oldest and most respected guide dog school in the world, based in Morristown, New Jersey. Kolby did her research, learning about several guide dog schools, and quickly realized that The Seeing Eye stood out above the rest. These incredible dogs not only helped Kolby navigate the world with independence, but they also gave her the sense of freedom and confidence she thought she had lost forever.

The bond between Kolby and her guide dogs was something truly special—her dogs were not just companions; they were her lifeline. Kolby often spoke about how her guide dogs gave her the ability to experience life in a way she thought would no longer be possible. They were her partners in everything from simple daily tasks to life-changing adventures.

One of Kolby’s final wishes was to give back—to ensure that other individuals living with visual impairments could experience the same life-changing gift she had been given. Kolby wanted to sponsor a guide dog(s), to help another person find the freedom and independence that she was so fortunate to have. She knew the profound impact that a guide dog could have on someone's life, and it was her wish to help make that possible for others.

In honour of Kolby’s memory and her deep love for the dogs who helped her, we are starting this fundraiser to sponsor a guide dog through The Seeing Eye. With this sponsorship, a dog will be named after Kolby, and her family will have the privilege of following that dog's journey as it undergoes training and is matched with a person in need.
