Hi, My name is Kolby. I was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma within my right pelvic bone in September 2025 after experiencing extreme pain in my pelvic area. When I was initially diagnosed they had found it in its earliest stage. My tumor sat around 7x6 inches in size upon my initial diagnosis. I began to recieve treatment not long after my diagnosis, but there were some medical complications here and there. In late March 2026 I had finished my 7th round of intensive chemotherapy which had shrink my tumor down from 7x6 inches to about 4x3, and I was set to begin 8 weeks of radiation therapy to eradicate what was left of my tumor. Unfortunately, the day before I was set to move into my temporary lodging for radiation, I developed Sepsis. My family immediately took me to the nearest emergency room, where they transported me to my hospital which is over an hour away from where I live.

Once I arrived at the hospital everything went south, the sepsis set in very quickly. I had hallucinations, I was running extreme fever, and a plethora of other things. Then on April 3rd I was placed into a medically induced coma and they put me on a ventilator. While in my coma I suffered from a staph infection in my blood and severe double pneumonia, which only caused things to spiral downward. While asleep I suffered from 6 brain bleeds, two strokes, and had to be resuscitated twice due to the fact my lungs were failing. The doctors pulled me from death twice, but even they weren't sure if I'd survive everything if I woke up. Yet, I did wake up around the 26th of April, and when I did I discovered that I could no longer move my left foot, right hand, walk, or even see out of the right corner of my eyes. The doctors told me and my family that it was unlikely that I would ever walk again or even use my hand.

But I fought tooth and nail to even sit up in my hospital bed, I was bot going to lay there and suffer. About a week after I woke up I was transported to physical rehabilitation, where they did everything they could to help me stand, walk, use my hand, and move my feet to the best of my abilities. On May 22nd I was released from rehab and sent home.

Since then I have gone through physical therapy, radiation therapy (to assist with extreme pain in my pelvic bone), and several other appointments to assist me, I have even begun walking better and have been using my hand even after they said I likely never would again. While I'm still confined to a wheelchair for anywhere that isn't my home and i still need my arm brace to assist my wrist sometimes, any amount of progress is good progress. But nothing good lasts, after one of my CT scans they found nodules in my lungs which they tested via a biopsy soon after. The cancer has metastasized into several spots in both lungs varying from half a centimeter to two centimeters in size. This means that my new diagnosis is stage 4 metastatic ewings sarcoma, which has a 5-year survival rate of only 39% with only 250 people diagnosed annually. My oncologist yas told me that the only treatment they can further offer is chemotherapy once again, which caused me to basically die already and be resuscitated before. They cannot perform surgery or radiation, as they said it wouldn't stop the nodules from growing nor could it destroy them fast enough.

Because of this we have been looking into a new hospital to go to, specifically MD Anderson in Texas, which is a couple states away. MD Anderson sees more patients with ewings sarcoma than any hospital in the world, and they also have multiple clinical trials underway to help treat stage 4 ewings sarcoma, but we have many problems. MD Anderson has offered to do a pathology work-up for me, however, this will mean i have to stay in Texas for 3-5 days and the hospital will not aid in lodging. The full work-up will also cost me $30,000 on top of finding a place to stay while there. They have also told me that it is almost impossible that my state medicaid will cover any out-of-state medical expenses.

So this is where everything stands, and I need all of the help I can get. I hate asking for help, and I hate asking for money above all else, but I am at the end of my rope. If I am unable to get into these medical trials or pay for them, I will have to gamble with my life with chemotherapy. And if I don't do the chemotherapy, I will die from this cancer. How long I'd have left to live without any treatment is uncertain, but I refuse to go down without a fight.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my story. I love every person who has decided to help, even if it's just kind words. God bless each and every one of you.
