I have just qualified to be a member of the 2017 USA Wrestling- Virginia National Team. The team consists of the top Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers in the state in my age group. Selection to the team was based on the results of the recent USA Wrestling State Championships and past wrestling achievements.
During the past several years, the Virginia team has done well in national competition. Last year, the team included a number of All-Americans. This year’s team should be very strong, and our goals are to win the team title and have as many All-Americans as possible. We strive to continue a tradition of excellence for Virginia wrestling.
The National Wrestling Championships will be held this year at the University of North Dakota in Fargo, from July 14 to July 22. I will be attending an intensive wrestling technique camp along with my teammates starting on July 6. In addition to this, I will be training throughout May, June and July in preparation for the Nationals. These activities will consume a great deal of my time for this summer so that I can perform at my peak in North Dakota.
This is where you can help my dream become a reality. The cost for me to participate on the Virginia National Wrestling team is $1,800 for one style and $1,900 for both styles. Due to the extensive training I will be doing, earning this money through a summer job between now and camp will be impossible. Therefore, I am asking for a donation to help me out.
I believe that his summer’s wrestling experience will go a long way towards helping me achieve my personal goals in wrestling and in life. I am eager to represent my community and the state of Virginia at the National Wrestling Championships. I will continue to work hard to let people across the country know that Virginia wrestling is the best. I greatly appreciate any help you may be able to give me. Thank you!
