Kolbie's Medical Costs

My name is Des Hargreaves and together with friends Karmen Weaver and Ashley Reinhart, we are fundraising to cover medical costs, travel, hotels, meals, and time away from work for our friends Vicki and Tom. Vicki and Tom's daughter, Kolbie, was diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus in December 2023. Diabetes Insipidus happens when the body can't balance its fluid levels in a healthy way, causing a magnitude of health issues. Along with this diagnosis the Oncologist believed that Kolbie either had a type of germ cell tumor called Germinoma, or Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, which is a rare cancer-like condition. Since this time, Kolbie has undergone several MRI's, Lumbar punctures, PET Scans, ultrasounds, and so many other tests. The latest round of tests has identified a tumor on Kolbie's Pituitary Stalk. She underwent an invasive biopsy, and the family is waiting for the results from the biopsy to determine what the course of action will be going forward. Regardless of the diagnosis, Kolbie will require rounds of radiation and chemotherapy at the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital in Saskatoon. Through it all Kolbie has remained the same vibrant little girl that everyone knows. We hope that you'd like to join us in supporting this family in their time of need.
