Heather and Ben Kolar are both amazing people, who are raising three incredible kids: Morgan (13), Grant (11), and Hailey (7). All five of these humans are kind, funny, thoughtful, and generous. They are the first to pitch in and offer support when those around them are struggling or need help, and of course the last to ask for help themselves.
Heather is a graduate of Whiteford Agricultural High School and Ben a grad of Bedford High School, and they still live in the area, and are active in the community.
A few months ago their son was diagnosed with a serious and scary long-term health issue. Then just after that Ben was diagnosed with cancer and underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor, and now they are waiting on pathology results to figure out the next steps. Then just this week, their oldest, Morgan, was found by their youngest lying unresponsive on the bathroom floor and had to be rushed to the ER: they are continuing to run tests to figure out what is wrong, but it’s looking likely that it is a serious and scary long-term health issue.
Three major medical issues back-to-back-to-back. This equals medical bills, prescriptions, and a lot of time off work to take care of everything and everyone (and of course frustration, stress and anxiety). One major medical diagnosis can affect a family negatively—but three in a row! It’s hard to even imagine.
Please keep this family in your prayers, and consider contributing something here: especially with the holidays coming, and because these health issues and diagnoses are complex and ongoing. It’s difficult to even know when things will “get back to normal.” They are incredible people who have been there for so many others over the years (and even now with all their own issues are continuing to do what they can to help others).
