Aloha and hey y'all! This is Kokua Kupuna (help for the elderly). This is a ministry project. Our desire as a ministry team is to deliver care packages to the "forgotten" kupuna (elderly) in our communities (Oahu, Big Island, and Tennessee). Let us explain.
Covid-19 has put hardship on everybody this past year. For those of us that have families during this time, we understand how much of a blessing they are (though they might drive us crazy). Ask yourself this question, "Did I get to be with someone I loved in the past week?" Most of us can answer "yes" to that question. There are however, those that don't have that opportunity. Those who are in assisted living homes, and many who are elderly have a great burden put on them because of the Corona Virus. Many assisted living homes can't allow families to have in person visits due to the risk of exposure from the virus. Also, many of those living at assisted living homes or those confined to their house have family out of state or no family at all to visit them. This is were we come in!
Our purpose: to provide our kupuna (elderly) in our communities with
CARE PACKAGES to bless them and remind them that they are loved. These care packages will include:
- One custom tote bag.
- Five to six stamps (to send out postage).
- Stationary and envelopes.
- Ball point pens.
- Facial tissues
- Masks
- The father's love letter (Gospel message) https://www.fathersloveletter.com/media-center.html
- Personal letter from one of our six team members (this will be a connecting letter to those who receive it. They can use the given postage and stationary to write us back and build a penpal relationship).
Each care package will average around $30 dollars. The cost will include the items listed above and also shipping/delivery. Our goal is to reach a minimum of 75 people!
We would love to reach more than 75 people! If we raise more, we can reach more. Please pray for our elderly and please pray for this project.
