I came to Cyprus 9 years ago and noticed a serious cat problem, as most people may be aware of.
Whilst living here, I have come across abandoned kittens in my neighbourhood that I have been feeding for years.
When I come across kittens, I take it upon myself to feed, water and enrich their lives with toys. In order to stop the the cat infestation in the area, I have also been capturing them and taking them to get neutered. The government does offer aid in doing this however, this is not always successful as there is a large population of cats and the government will not pay for all of them to be neutered. As you can imagine, over the years I have spent a significant amount of money doing all of this.
3 years ago, I came across 5 little girls, in the photo you can see them as the white ones. Since then I have acquired around 20 cats as people have been dumping them. I don’t find this to be a problem as they take care of the rat and snake issues in the area however recently someone has binned all of the beds, toys, bowls, shelter and any other items I have bought for the cats to use as they do not want cats near their house.
I am now forced to move the cats, into a bush by the side of a high traffic road on a blind bend, as you can see in the picture, where there is no shelter.
I would love your help in re purchasing some of these items so they can have shelter from the sun and feel safe.
Some of the cats are currently nursing injuries and need all the help they can get.
