Kokūa for the Samante Ohana!!

The Samante ’ohana humbly ask for your support. All donations will go toward medical bills, medication, and any other necessities needed to help Jon recover from surgery. They are not expecting to cover all costs but to at least help offset some of the bills.

On the morning of Saturday 9/11 Jon completed his PT test for the Hawaii Army National Guard. Before heading home to shower he decided to go upstairs to turn in his scorecard. That is when Jon collapsed in the hallway then proceeded to have a seizure that lasted about 3 minutes. Jon was quickly sent to Queens West Medical Center where he experienced another seizure in the ER. Doctors, neurologist, radiologist, nurses all jumped in on the case of a 35 year old healthy male now experiencing seizures. After many tests including CT scans, MRI, blood work, spinal tap, etc a tumor was found in his prefrontal lobe of his brain. Neurosurgeons have stated that it is the tumor that is causing his seizures because it is now pushing on his brain growing to about 3.3cm now.

We hope the money we do raise for the Samante family will take some pressure off of worrying about paying for the surgery, items for Jon’s recovery along with the everyday life expenses. Jon, Michelle and their four children Myla (15), Meyia (10), Maraiya (4) and Joziah (2) thank you very much for your generosity during this very difficult time.
