Kohen Long, 20, a resident of Greensbobo, NC, passed away on Tuesday November 24th 2020. He was born on March 9th 2000 to Teresa Allen Long and Mike Long. Kohen attended Northern Guilford High School but received his diploma from Brittain Academy in 2018.
Kohen had an infectious smile that would light up a room. He was a daredevil, risk taker and always was the first to give it a try. He was an avid motocross racer with a promising future. His stubborn foolish qualities are what made him so special and uniquely himself. He loved his life and lived it to the fullest. He always, brought joy, smiles, and laughter to everyone he met. His spirit will live on forever through so many close friends he left behind.
The Kohen Long Rider Support Fund at Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park
Kohen was a charismatic young man with a passion to ride his motorcycle. Kohen was a great friend to our son, Smith. The two of them spent many days together racing and riding motocross. I think Kohen was the most clear and happy about himself and life with riding his motorcycle. Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park is where our relationship with Kohen started and our friendship grew. Our first encounter with Kohen here was on a muddy Halloween race weekend. He became a part of our life and our friend ever since. Smith and Kohen spent many weekends from that time forward developing a strong relationship based on their passion to ride and race. Kohen was at his best when he was surrounded by the friendships he created through motocross. After speaking with Kohens mother after his death, it was clear to us, she wanted any support or gifts in memory of Koen to go towards his passion and the incredible joy he and his friends have for the sport of motocross. As a single mother, Teresa worked hard to support his passion and the joy and pride he found on and off the track with his mx friends, where some of his best life lessons grew out of the sport.
Lake Sugar Tree is a wonderful racing facility with a history of passion to develop riders of all ages. It is the place we continue to remember the beginning of our relationship with Kohen.
The Staff at Lake Sugar Tree continues to support and train all levels of riders in the sport. With our donations, we can help young struggling riders to pursue their passion for life in the sport of motocross. The too could continue to pursue a positive outlet in motocross. The sport brings peers, families, and friends together in a positive and supportive community.
Please join us in this drive to give support, in Kohens memory, to others.
God Bless!
