On December 18th, 2016, Micah Koffron passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his beloved wife, Kazumi and their three children, Sakura (21), Hanaka (20) and Taiga (17). Micah was laid to rest just days after Christmas by his devastated family in a small private ceremony.
At just 42 years of age, his passing has come as an unimaginable shock to his family, and nobody could have planned for the future they now face. Both Sakura and Hanaka are pursuing college degrees, and soon Taiga will be too.
Micah was a brilliant engineer who made incredible contributions during his 15 years at Microsoft, and went on to found Digitalchemy, a growing app startup. Everyone who worked with or for Micah knows his kind and gentle nature, his patience and willingness to help, and the way he made everyone around him do better and laugh harder.
Micah was a kind, gentle soul, and can't be replaced. But we can honor what he meant to each of us, and we have a chance to ease his family's burden just a little this January.
