My name is Koffi Sedou. I came to the US from Togo three years ago as a political asylee. Since arriving I have done a few different jobs including construction and various delivery services. I have also been driving an Uber/Lyft to earn money on the side.
My goal now is to get a CDL CLASS A driver's license and become a tractor-trailer driver. Long-haul trucking is in high demand, particularly where I live near the ports of New Jersey. Getting this license will put me on a path to establishing myself in a career where there is both growth and stability. It will also allow me to travel. Being a truck driver will give me the opportunity to see the country I now call home and see places and states I have only heard about.

To get such a license I need to attend a specialized driving school and then complete at least 160 hours behind the wheel. I have been saving money for this goal. However, federal regulations recently changed, and obtaining a license has become more difficult and costly. I am looking to raise the additional $4000 that completing the driving school will require.
I hope you will support me in pursuing this dream.
