July 4th is usually a day we celebrate independence with friends and family and thank those who fought, and still fight, for this country. Douglas Koehler, an Army National Guard Infantryman who fought during Operation Iraqi Freedom, was unable to celebrate the 4th due to the bad choices of an SUV driver. Instead, Doug Koehler lay on the side of the road after being brutally run over on his motorcycle the morning of July 4th. The motorist has since been charged with Aggravated DUI, Leaving the Scene , and multiple other charges.
So, while most of us were waking up, starting to prepare for the festivites ahead... Douglas Koehler was being airlifted to a nearby hospital with "critical injuries". His financial needs are growing every day and his road to recovery will be long and painful. Unable to work right now, let alone stand or walk... We are reaching out to friends, family, and kind strangers to assist Douglas & his family in this time of need. Please help Doug and his family.
