Hello,
My name is Kody McEachin & I was diagnosed with Pompe's Disease a form of Muscular Dystrophy back in 1994. It is a debilitating disease that reduces muscle strength all over the body. I receive treatments at Emory Hospital that have helpped slow the progression over time. However I have reached a point where at the moment I can't hold a job or even a work at home job. Chronic pain is now involved and current treatments are starting to be ineffective. I was given a life expectency of 40 and I'm currently 38 so you can see my urgency to find something more effective, and I have.
There is another treatment, however I am on fixed income and I am requesting funds to help with the portion that insurance doesn't cover. The treatments to date have had a very promising succsess rate and will alow me to do things most take for granted like walking, stand for a normal to extended period of time, get out of a low sitting seat, not be so easy to trip & fall, to be able to pick myself up if I should fall, continue my education, and get back into the workforce. In short, I want to live a life like anyone else, instead of waste away slowly while watching the world go by.
I am apprecheative of any help given, just know you will be helping not just to make dreams come true, but you will be helping me to help myself, then I can in turn help others.
Thank you,
Kody M
