#KodiStrong Supporting Kodi and Her Family

Kodi is currently in the ICU at Children’s, fighting through more than any child should ever have to endure. Since birth, she has faced ongoing complications from a congenital esophageal condition, requiring multiple dilations, needle knife procedures, and most recently, a second major surgery on Monday, 4/20, to repair her esophagus.

Shortly after surgery, Kodi experienced a devastating setback. Her body had been battling multiple viruses, and her immune system, already weakened from everything she has gone through, simply could not keep up. She went into cardiac arrest and required several minutes of life saving measures. She is now intubated and being closely monitored. While she is stable at the moment, there are still many unknowns, and her hospital stay could extend for several more weeks as she continues to fight and recover.

Ethan and Amanda have been right by Kodi’s side through it all. Amanda will be taking an unpaid leave from work so she can be at the hospital, and she is incredibly grateful for the support her company has shown in allowing her to focus on her family. Ethan is going to try to work when he can, but there will be times when Kodi needs him at the hospital instead.

They are currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House to remain close to Kodi during this critical time. While they are beyond thankful for the support there, medical bills, food, gas, daycare costs (to hold her spot while she is unable to attend), and everyday expenses continue to add up.

Anyone who knows Ethan and Amanda knows they would never ask for help, but right now their focus needs to be on Kodi, being present with her and supporting her recovery without the added stress of financial strain.

Any support, no matter the amount, will help ease that burden and allow them to spend as much time as possible with Kodi during her recovery. We know life is expensive for everyone right now, and we truly appreciate anything that is given.
