Kodi’s Medical Costs

Hi, my name is Hannah, I live in DFW. My boyfriend, Sergio, and I have an adorable Alaskan Malamute dog named Kodiak (Kodi for short) who is 4 years old and was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy at 7 months old. Recently, Kodi just had a cluster of seizures that put him in critical condition and resulted in a trip to the animal hospital. He spent 3 full days stabilizing in the emergency room overnight and has been fighting hard to fully recover. After coming home from the hospital, he has been prescribed additional medication to help further stabilize his body and prevent further seizures. This medication is costly and he has further appointments set in place to visit a neurologist as well as his veterinarian. With these additional appointments, the medical cost will exceed the current expense given to us, which is nearly $8,000 total so far. The hope is that we can figure out what could have caused this big outbreak in his epilepsy and how we can prevent it from happening again.
