Kodi needs help with her operation!

Hello everyone,

Let me start off by saying how much I appreciate that you're taking the time to read about us right now.

It means a lot.  Even if that's all you can do.  Sincerely, thank you.

My name is Tyler.  I currently live with my girlfriend Megan, and our roomate, Talon, but that wasn't always the case.  Almost 3 years ago, I adopted Kodi when I moved to Fresno; a new town. I did not know  anybody, and sorely desired a bit of companionship.

Just look at that face.

Now, things went swimmingly for us for quite some time, up until April of this year, when we  lost our home due to a sudden job loss.  Luckily, we have built up an absolutely incredible support system, and so for about 5 months, though we were largely separated, Megan, Talon, Kodi, and I all had a roofs over our heads.  As of September, we were able to reunite and have a home of our own again, and bring Kodi back.

Unfortunately, while Kodi was staying with the father of a friend, she developed bladder stones under circumstances that we weren't able to discover until after she had come back home and we were able to watch her a bit more closely.  It wasn't until two vet visits, 2 rounds of antibiotics, and a round of X-rays that we discovered the problem, and that between the X-rays and surgery she needs to have the stones removed, we're looking at a hefty bill of $2,400.00, optimistically.

I don't take my coming here lightly, but I am absolutely out of options.  I have applied for every credit card I can to try and find a way to put the balance of the operation on them and work through it later, but to no avail.  I am too freshly rebuilding from the past year of other assorted problems, and can't get approved for anything, anywhere.  Those attempts will not stop, and if I can find an alternative source to make this problem more manageable, I will go that route.  I will be working extra hours, filing for other means of assistance, and exhausting every avenue I can.  In the meantime however, a family member is suffering, and I don't know what else to do, or where else to go.  We need to address this, and we need to do it soon.  This operation is something we need to do before the problem progresses more than it already has, and we see even larger bills, or more importantly, worse pain and discomfort on Kodi's part.

I don't expect the masses of strangers & acquaintances of the internet to contribute the cost of Kodi's operation.  I could never think to expect something like that, but at this point, I can only hope, and ask that some folks out there might be able to help, even the smallest bit.  If you've made it this far, I can only thank you again, and hope that whether or not you are able to contribute directly, that you might pass this along to raise awareness.

2016 has been an utter mess for us.  I don't really know how to articulate how thankful I am for the help we have received thus far on extremely short notice, and how happy I am that things like GoFundMe even exist, that we may be able to see help from one more avenue.

I want to open myself up through all of this, and pay it forward through favors, work, and contributions for others.  I know this is temporary for us, and if I can be a part of why the struggles of others are temporary in the future, I want to be able to provide that assistance.

If by some miracle we raise more money than we need, whether it be our initial goal or not, all remaining funds will be put towards helping other animals in similar need.

Thank you again for reading!
