Hi,

My name is Koda (they/them) and i'm a non binary, almost 30 year old trying to achieve top surgery.

Since I was rather young, I have always struggled with my gender identity and sexuality. Over the last few years, I feel as though I have truly found myself and that has helped by being surrounded by a wonderful support network of friends and family who love me just as I am.

I tried to get referred to Sandyford Gender Clinic initially in 2018, but due to complications with several doctors along the way, I ended up not getting put on to the referral list until 2021.

At the moment, patients are currently being seen who are on the list from November 2018 and I just cannot wait any longer.

I turn 30 this year. I have spent so long of my life being uncomfortable and hating the body I am in. I am ready to finally feel at home in my own skin - so I am choosing to go private.

I have already been receiving gender affirming health care through a private service for going on 2 years - however, I cannot afford to pay the £9000-£95000 cost for Top Surgery myself.

I am now relying on community support to help me get to that goal, and help me go into my thirties in the body I have been dreaming of.

I will do what I can to make the funds myself. I am still actively looking into all my options, however, as a homeless teen and someone who has struggled their entire life with finances - there are not many options for me.

I will periodically update/decrease the total amount needed to be raised as I raise the money though other means.

I will be making art as often as I can - so please keep an eye out for this!
